BUGGIANO – 3km/1,8mi

Buggiano is one of the oldest villages of Val di Nievole.

It has been inhabited since the Etruscan Age, due to its strategic position on a hill, ideal to control the valley and in particular the old road from Florence to Lucca.

Buggiano is called “The Village of Citrus Fruits”: its particular micro-climate favors the growth of all kinds of citrus trees and, every two years, on May, the owners open their houses and gardens to the public.

The territory of Buggiano offers also many itineraries for walking, trekking and cycling lovers, from Campioni, to Stignano and Colle.
